Sunshine, Sunnies + Seattle

Old friends are the best.

And I’m not talking about ‘old’ as in age. ; )

There is something so pleasant about welcoming a guest into your home who you don’t have to try to impress. Someone who openly and willingly accepts both how you are and who you are; somehow who doesn’t require constant entertainment but rather is quite comfortable settling into your life pattern alongside you without missing a beat.

One of my best girlfriends from college was in town this weekend from California, and luckily she brought the sunshine with her. We spent the weekend catching up, eating delicious Seattle cuisine, and sitting on the rooftop deck enjoying the sunshine. Sunshine is common for Amanda, but for Audrey and I, the hours we spent up on the roof may as well have been a weeklong Caribbean vacation. It was perfect, and just what I needed. Sun and time with two of my favorite girlfriends.

Not to mention, it was the perrrrfect excuse to try out my new BR sunglasses that have been patiently waiting for such a day to arrive. I think they enjoyed the bright weather almost as much as I did.

Alyssa, you’re such a gifted writer. Your posts just flow so…easily. And I feel like I’m right there with you, Audrey, and the streaming sun.

I know exactly the kind of friends you speak of…the kind you don’t need to constantly “entertain.” It’s such a balm for the soul to spend quality time with them. So glad you got that gift this past weekend!

Also, those shades are rockin’! Love the fade from dark to light (I’m sure there’s a fancy term for that…but I’m spacing on it right now, ha ha). Have a happy Tuesday, friend!

Oh my goodness, Lauren, thank you for the kind words. They really mean so much, coming from someone as talented as you!! So glad we have been able to connect and get to know each other over the past few weeks!
